Drum & bass is one of those genres that didn’t get much attention yet on Sonic Walker. In 2005 l’Embrouille made the Melenick Session: Drum & Bass casse-tête [swm003] mix and early last year my 2nd Netcandy mix ‘Let’s break‘ combined hip hop, breakbeat and drum & bass. As far as I can tell, the DNB netlabel scene has been growing since then and there are a lot of great tracks waiting to be downloaded. This new mix is available as smaller 128 kbps and better sounding 256 kbps encoded mp3 file. Hear the drummer get wicked!
The follow up on the popular Netcandy Volume 1 mix is available now. Netcandy Volume 2 also features netlabel hip-hop and other breakbeat styles with vocals as well as instrumental. The mix starts with a beautiful track by Playme which is sung in Rumantsch, a language only being spoken by about 50,000-70,000 people in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. Other raps are in English, German and Spanish.
From the west-coast of France we received a special Drum & Bass mix by DJ L’embrouille. Previously L’embrouille released two Melenick Session mixes on the Zerinnerung netlabel and he as a weekly netlabel radio mix on mpiii.com.
With this 3rd release Sonic Walker wants to present the diversity of the netlabel scene. The mix by DJ L’embrouille contains high quality Drum & Bass tracks from labels such as Exegene, Laverna and Stretching-Spaces.
