The new podcast website Vinyl Escape choose our Trick-Or-Treat Mix [swm004] for their first podcast which went live today.
This is the 3rd time a Sonic Walker Mix has been used by other podcasts. Previously the German Chaos Computer Club already used the same mix for their Chaosradio Express podcast 004 and our first release for Chaosradio Express 006. If you understand German I highly recommend these interesting podcasts - some are also in English.

For a while last night our file server has not been able to handle the traffic. Since 2 pm on Sunday the traffic increased and since then we have been transferring more than 300GB. It all started with the podcast on starfrosch but obviously Nappunk’s mix has also been mentioned on other sites and feeds as well. The majority of downloads did not come directly from this site but have been direct downloads from podcast clients. In 93% Apple’s iTunes has been used as podcast client with each 50% Macintosh and Windows users. Unfortunately neither iTunes nor the other podcast clients (like iPodder and iPodderX) transmit the source of the podcast, so we can not see, which RSS feeds have been used.
While we can now handle the traffic after I tweaked the server settings, we will have to find a different solution soon, so I will start looking at archive.org and similar solutions.
If you have problems downloading, please use the alternative download server.

As you might have read, Apple introduced some proprietary RSS podcasting tags with their podcasting support in iTunes. Because of this, podcasters around the globe started to adjust their applications, but a nicer solution might be there, as reported by techbasedmarketing.com:
Feedburner has finalized it’s iTunes support. In a nutshell that means your podcasts will be properly picked up and described for people using iTunes. But what is the big picture? What does all this really mean in simple English?
You see, iTunes, Yahoo Media RSS, Odeo and probably many more media archives in the future require special coding in your RSS feeds in order to properly list your podcast, video cast or whatever cast in the software or directory.
Many of them have their own little requirements so it is a real pain and you’d have to manually edit your RSS file if you want in on these directories. But feedburner has made it as easy as clicking a checkbox and filling in your details.
More information is available on the feedburner site:

More music from Mexico:
Cyan Recs is a Mexicali, Mexico based netlabel for digital contemporary electronic music. This new portal is mainly for creative sound compositions like minimal dub, glitch jazz experiments, techno, microhouse music, and everything in between. All this of course is for FREE and available on high quality MP3, encoded in 192 kbit. Also we have included a 300 dpi slim case color cover for each release, so you’ll be able to put a ‘face’ to your downloaded recording. Welcome!
Welcome on board. I am looking forward to more netlabels and releases from this region.
Cyan Recs makes its start with a micro-compilation named ,Señales‘, containing exclusive tracks by mexican artists Fax, Plankton Man, Karras, and Antena, plus Daniel Fritschi from Germany. This first MP3 release gives a small view of the music you can expect on Cyan Recs.
