Back from Cologne Commons

Last week I spent two days at the first Cologne Commons conference and festival. Cologne Commons was an intense experience with interesting discussions and great music. It was great to meet some netaudio artists and other people who run Netlabels themselves.

Highlights were the live performances of Entertainment For The Braindead and Comfort Fit on Friday. Between 3 and 4 am I played my DJ set with a mixture of electro, breakbeats, techno and house. Below you can find the playlist. The Cologne Commons crew did a great job in organizing this event, and I would like to thank them for inviting me.

First part of netlabel research report available

In cooperation with Phlow Patryk Galuszka presents selected results of the first part of a research, which was conducted to learn more about netlabels. The research is a part of his postdoctoral project which deals with netaudio scene from perspectives of business studies and economic sociology. Patryk got in contact with 650 netlabels, send out 569 questionnaires and received 339 complete questionnaires during his research.

Sonic Walker Mix 74: Project 133

DJ mixes are always a good way to get to know a netlabel and its artists. In his new mix sea.envy presents Terminalstation, a fundamentally diverse audio & visual netlabel from the UK. Sea.envy’s Project 133 mix features various styles which can be found on Terminal Station and is one hour, three minutes and three seconds long with 133 beats per minute.

Netmix series is now officially a trilogy. One of the featured labels of this mix is Front, a Georgian netlabel which was founded in 2007.
