Happy New Year

1 01 2008

Another active year for Sonic Walker is over. Last year we released 23 free to download netlabel DJ mixes, which were good for more than 4 terabytes of downloads. As before I tried to feature different aspects of the netlabel scene and a large diversity of labels. Visitors on our site have been coming from 114 countries.

Visitors in 2007

I have been undecided about the state of the netlabel scene. Some labels have gone commercial, a few labels disappeared and of course many new labels and artists entered the arena. In general the quality of the releases has been good but I am still missing variety.

Unfortunately in December I didn’t have enough time next to my day time job to release any mixes, but later in January we will be back and there are some special plans for February. Until then you can enjoy any of the existing 36 mixes.

I wish you all a Happy New Year and a lot of great music,

Harald

Don’t sign with a label, they’ll get every penny, screw you over and you won’t see anything

Found my photos on Denon DJ Japan website

9 10 2005

Surfing the web, looking for Denon DN-S3500 prices, I came across two of my photos from the DJ Expo 2005 Amsterdam on the website of Denon in Japan. I contacted them, hoping for a DN-S3500 in return but never got an answer. But at least he European price for the DN-S3500 starts falling while the first orders should be shipping soon. Music Store in Cologne is one of the first to offer it for less than € 800,- (inc. VAT). In the US the price dropped to $ 699,- (ex. VAT) soon after the introduction (which would be about € 690 incl. VAT).

The European summer is getting cold and wet again. How about some Mexican music to get us warm from the inside again? Ed Fladung is offering a nice compilation on his site. Just click on the cover for the tracklisting and download.

No summer road trip is complete without a hand-picked mix. This is the soundtrack for your mexican adventure. Destination? Lake Chapala, the high-plateau lake sanctuary hidden in the hills above Guadalajara.
