Marcus Watkins runs and coordinates Detroit based netlabel Random Access Recordings. Marcus was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and started DJing at the early tender age of 13. Marcus has gotten a fair share of notoriety DJing throughout North America and Europe playing many events from small scale pubs to large outdoor festivals. This includes international tours in Canada, England, Scotland, and Greece. Marcus became interested in house and techno, mainly because of his cousins the late Armando Gallop and Frank “Lust” Johnson. They taught him the history of house music and made him well aware of some struggles they had experienced early on, which has helped him to understand and appreciate the evolution of the music. Marcus has a burning passion for his art form and you can definitely see it and feel it when he spins. Marcus’s sound is very versatile and can range from minimal techno to soulful house, depending on the mood.
